Nalene, my Thompson line left Lincoln CO.N.C. in the early 1800's. They may have gone directly to Cape Girardeau but I think were in Illinois for awhile. I have seen the name Mcginnis but am not sure if it was in Cape Girardeau. Have you tried that area of the country? A lot of people from Lincoln CO. went to Cape Girardeau. Good luck. Virginia
