Gaston County Heritage
The Gaston County Heritage Book Committee will hold a meeting on Saturday, August 21, 1999. The 1:00 o'clock meeting will be in the Conference Room of the Gaston County Library that is on Garrison Boulevard in Gastonia. The meeting is to discuss the up coming book, Gaston County Heritage and the selection of Committee Members. The meeting is open to the public.
In the last meeting committee members agreed to give all committee members one FREE copy of the book when it is completed. Paul Dellinger, Chairman of the Committee, stated: "Gaston County is a very important county historically and genealogically speaking. We need committee members to help put this book together." The book is a compilation of articles about local historical sites and families. The public is invited to submit stories about families with Gaston County roots and Gaston County historical sites. The Committee will consider articles up to 500 words and one photograph for FREE insertion. Articles over 500 words can be included, but a charge of $0.10 per word over 500 is charged. Extra photographs can be included for $12.50 each. The Committee prefers stories to be type written and double-spaced, but will accept hand written stories as well. . A number of workshops will be conducted to assist you in compiling and writing your articles.
