I am sorry I cannot help on this Pinkney name. I have researched PINKNEY and found people all of the US had that name, either first or middle. Henderson Pinkney named one of his sons William Pinkney too. I thought for years it was a family name in our line but honestly believe it was just a popular name at the time. There was a govenor in S.C. at the time spelled PINCKNEY but I don't think everybody named their kids after him.
