Frederick Slinkard m. Barbara Grounds

I am trying to determine the parentage of Frederick Slinkard who married Barbard Grounds 04/01/1794 Lincoln, NC. There is numerous sources of info on them with lots of discrepencies.

Frederick had a sister, Elizabeth, who married Phillip Bollinger, and a brother Jacob, who married Catherine Crites. I believe there may have been another brother, George.

Various sources list their father as Frederick b. abt. 1740 m. Barbara Grounds/Grant. There are also many birthplaces listed for these children, including MD, VA, PA, and NC.

I know that their family members migrated with George Frederick Bollinger to Southeast Missouri from North Carolina in 1800.

The 1790 North Carolina Census lists five Slinkards as Heads of Households; George, Henry, Jacob, Jacob, and Jno. In these five listings there are four males under 16, and 8 females. There were also two Bolinger listings; Henry, and Mathias; and two Grount listings; Peter, and Peter.

These names are all intertwined in my tree.

I find it hard to believe that Frederick had a father Frederick who also married a Barbara Grounds.

Any enlightening info would be greatly appreciated!

Erica
