Powers family, NC early 1800's

Am looking for any information on the Powers family who resided in Lincoln county in the early 1800's (and possilby before). Gillum (Gilliam or John Powers) Powers married a Barbara Rhyne on November 13, 1822. Of this marriage there were 2 children, Matilda & Pinckney Powers. Gillum died somewhere between 1825 -1827. Barbara remarried a man named Smith and moved to MO. I am interested in any information anyone might have, and especially about Gillum, his parents or where he might have originated from.
