Lincoln County, North Carolina, is in the process of writing a second Heritage Book. Family articles will be accepted through Dec. 2003. I encourage each of you to submit an article to the book. We accept 500 words and a family photo free of charge. Andreas Killian's name was mentioned only once in the 1997 Heritage Book and it was in my family article. James Green wrote extensively about Andreas Killian in the Catawba County Heritage Book, which was published in the late 1980s. I personally know so many of you have researched and written extensively about your ancestral line back to Lincoln County, NC, you have an opportunity now to write about your ancestry and yourself and family. My Leatherman family came through for me overwhelmingly in the 1997 Heritage Book. I don't want the Killian family left out of the Heritage of Lincoln County. Every Lincoln County historian today tells me that Lincoln County, NC, was entirely known as The Killian Settlement during the pioneer days. It is up to all of you to keep that honor known. Frances Killian Hampton is on the Heritage Book Committee, along with myself, and she has promised to write about our pioneer ancestor Andreas Killian.

Most of you have other ancestral lines to Lincoln County, NC, and I invite you to include those ancestors also. If you have individual questions, please contact me personally at lbarkley@charter.net.
Thank you,
Linda
