I'm a descendant of David Miller and Amy Lovina Yount, and I have an old photo of an elderly woman that I think is probably Amy Lovina. I'm hoping there might be some other descendants out there who can help me to identify the photo, which you can see by clicking on the link at the bottom of the paragraph. Amy Lovina Yount was born in 1826 and died in 1915 at the age of 88 years old. She was the daughter of Henry Yount and Sarah Miller of Lincoln County or present day Catawba County. David L. Miller, (1827-1864), was the grandson of Revolutionary War hero, John Miller, of Lincoln County. He died during the Civil War and is buried at the Confederate Cemetery in Raleigh. Some say he died of war related injuries while at least one source claims he died from malaria. David and Amy had seven children before his death and Amy never married again. She lived the later years of her life in the household of her son-in-law, Asbury Woods and her daughter Jane. According to a story in the Hudson Heritage Book, she cut her hand one day while preparing chicken and died a few weeks later from blood poisioning after it became infected. She is buried at Sardis Cemetery in Hudson, N.C. If anyone out there can help me to identify the woman in the photo I would appreciate it if you would let me know.
