Dear Bob Graham, Historical and Genealogical Reference, Lincoln County Library;

Your posting states that your wife is a descendant of John Cox and his line back to NJ and Long Island. http://genforum.genealogy.com/nc/lincoln/messages/1077.html
My father, CPO David Elmore Brown, USN (Ret.) descends from John Cox. This month, we are learning about the family history for his ancestors of Lincolnton, NC including: John Morris Cox (1794-1851) and Issac Holland, Sr. (1745-1810) Revoluntionary War hero at Battle of Kings Mountain.
For my sisters, nieces, and I to join the Colonial Dames and DAR, we need a copy of the Cox family's marriage records and supporting documentation like bible records, Last Wills, cemetery listings and DAR approved applications.
Does your library have indexes for these types of records? Does the library have Surname Files for researchers to submit their family information and stories?
Has your wife submitted her family documentation to the library?
