Ann,
John Allen appears in Lincoln Co. census records from 1790 - 1820. In 1821 Tax records, he is listed as "Deceased". Do you find a will listed for him in that time frame? A John Allen was listed as Bondsman for Benjamin Allen in 1804 there. I hope to learn if there is a relationship.
