CORRECTION: Jacob Rhyne first married Mary White, then Caty Stroup, then Sally Hope, then Rebecca Walker. I just looked at a copy of his marriage license to Rebecca Walker, they were married in l843. I was told that he died that same year. Where she is buried I have no idea. His youngest son by Sally Hope, Francis Marion Rhyne, my Great Grandpa first married Mary Erwin in l861 in Itawamba Co. Miss. and she apparently died. He then married Tabitha Delilah Joiner in l863. Jacob's oldest son W.C. Rhyne married a lady named White and I've wondered if she was related to Mary White who first married his father. The White family in and around where Jacob grew up near Dallas, NC was numerous. I suppose he married into that family. If his son married a White in Itawamba Co. Miss she may or may not have been related to that family. I have noticed that many times when a family moved from one location to another sometimes several other families migrated with them. Some of the NC Whites may have moved to Itawamba co. MS.
