When I originally responded to this query four years ago, I quoted from LINCOLN COUNTY, NC WILL ABSTRACTS by Philbeck and Turner. The abstract book indicates a will for Samuel SWEARINGEN, dated 7 June 1801, probated January 1819. This is an original will at the NC Archives, Raleigh. It will not be recorded in will books at the Lincoln Co. Clerk of Court's Office since it predates 1824, the date the will books begin.

Since the abstract indicates a probate date of Jan. 1819, I will go by the local library tomorrow and check court minutes for that date to see what reference I can find on this will. I already have a meeting in town for tomorrow afternoon. I checked the index of Lincoln Co. estates records and found nothing on the surname Swearingen. Will let you know what I find.
