Andrew J. Hauss (Hause), son of Peter and Lydia (Houser) Hauss, was b. 1828, d. 1923, bur. Pleasant Grove Methodist cem. Hwy. 182, Lincoln Co. He md. (Lincoln Co. marriage bond) 24 Nov. 1861 Mary N. Ramsey, dau. of Robert G. and Elizabeth (Davis) Ramsey. Mary N. (Ramsey) Hauss is also buried at Pleasant Grove.
Andrew J. Hause, son of John and Elizabeth (Whisnant) Hause, was b. 10 Jan. 1821, d. 15 June 1906, bur. Pleasant Grove Methodist cem., Hwy. 182, Lincoln Co. He married
(1) Lincoln Co. marriage bond 26 Feb. 1845 Mary Mullen. Mary died 9 July 1857 Spartanburg, SC. One child from this marriage John M. (?Matthias?) Hause. I believe Mary was a dau. of Matthias Mullen and Elizabeth Crowder.
(2) Lincoln Co. marriage bond 17 Mar. 1867 Jane B. Ramsey, dau. of Robert G. and Elizabeth (Davis) Ramsey. Jane was dec'd by 1879. Three known children from this marriage:
Willie Kathleen Hause, b. 11 Feb. 1871, d. 13 June 1873, bur. Pleasant Grove; Elizabeth "Bettie" Hause Huskey, b. 1872, d. 1948, bur. Blacksburg, Cherokee Co., SC; Flora H. Hause Pope, b. ca 1875, not mentioned in estate record of her father.
(3) Lincoln Co. marriage license 26 Oct. 1879 Esther Ann Taylor, dau. James and Nancy Taylor. Esther d. after 1911 and is bur. Oakland cem., Gaffney, Cherokee Co. SC. One child from third marriage William Clay Hause, b. 24 May 1882, d. 1 Jan. 1966, bur. Woodside cem., Clover, SC.
On the 1860 census your Andrew J. Hause is listed in Spartanburg Co., SC in the household of his brother-in-law Luke S. Mullen. They were in SC by 1855. Andrew joined the Confederacy in SC, returned to Lincoln Co. after being wounded during the Civil War.
