Do you still do lookups in your book of abstracted wills in Lincoln Co., NC? My gg grandfather, William Willis Hyde was b. 1794 in NC married in Wilkes Co., GA in 1824 and died in Yalobusha Co., MS in 1846. He stated he was the son of Rev. War veteran William Hyde. According to the senior William Hyde's application for a pension he was born in Lincoln Co., NC. He was living in Macon Co., NC when he applied for the pension. The Certificate of Pension was approved, signed the 4th day of Nov. 1836.

Does your book have any wills listed for William Hyde? There were three Hydes listed in the 1800 Lincoln Census: John Hyde, 45 and over; Benjamin Hyde, between 26 and 44; and William Hyde, between 26 and 44 with 3 sons under 10. Perhaps John was the father of Benjamin and my ggg grandfather William, the Rev. War veteran.

Thank you so much for any info you may have on this family.
