This is a possible clue. There is a Lincoln Co. NC marriage bond dated 26 Aug. 1829 for Samuel Redman and Ann Rhyne. Original of this bond is at the NC Archives, Raleigh. I checked both Lincoln Co. wills and estates for the surname REDMAN and found no listing. I did not find a Lincoln Co. marriage for John Shrum, possibly the marriage may have been in MO. This Shrum family may have been in the Stoddard Co. area prior to 1840. The only other Lincoln Co. marriage for the surname REDMAN is dated 6 Aug. 1832 for James A. Redman and Martha Yarber.
