Thank you for the tips. It is interesting about the Crouse family working in the iron works in Lincoln Co. I don't know if A J Burnett did when he moved to Sevier Co. but his da Minerva Elizabeth married a Robert B Thompson who worked in the iron works in Sevier Co. Robert's mother was Catherine Love and her brother Isaac Love was the one who started the Pigeon Forge. Isaac and Catherine Love were from Wythe Co. VA where the family was also associated with the iron works.
I found in the 1880 census on the LDS site, the Benjamin Crouse age 88 who lived in Ironton, Lincoln Co. NC. He was in the household of his son Erasmus(59) whose son Benjamin(30) worked in the iron mine and this Benjamin had a da named Minnie age 4. The name Minerva was used as a daughter's name in A J Burnett's, John G. Burnett and James A. Burnett's families indicating it was a family name. Minnie could be short for Minerva. These three were probably brothers all b NC - John and James moved to MO but AJ seems to have died before 1850 in Sevier Co.
I would be interested if you learn anything from the source you mentioned re the eastern Lincoln Co. Crouse line. Or if you want to send me their e-mail address I will contact them. My e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org
