Thanks for your reply.
Re: my last post; (a detail that I left out). - In Pocahontas' line of descent:
(Surnames) = Rolfe - Bolling - (Cabell) - Meredith - etc......
Also, the Jos. Abernathy who moved to MO, was NOT my Joseph.
My Jos. was b. 1749 VA, and in the 1840 Cape Girardeau MO census, Joseph
Abernathy is in age 50-60 category. He could not have been a son of my Joseph, either, as my Jos. doesn't show any sons on the (Lincoln Co. NC) census in 1790, and shows 2 sons 0-10 on the 1800 one! That's cutting it close, but not close enough. I would appreciate anything that you could share with me on Joseph's line, as I haven't been able to dig up much. I'm pretty sure his wife was Ann Williams, daughter of Charles Williams Sr. of Lincoln Co. NC., and that his daughter: Elizabeth, (Betsy) married Robert Tinnon, in Giles Co. TN. There was also a Millington Abernathy listed next to Joseph, on the 1812 Maury Co. TN tax list, and Charles Williams Jr. had a
son : Millington!
Thanks again,
Otis Fuller
