Ann,

I am descended from this William Bott through Casper Shell but my interest in this posting is related to the John Butts, Lincolnton hatter. I have reports that Christopher Setser, s/o Jacob Setser and Mariah Hildebran, was apprenticed to this John Butts from 1809 to Sept. 6, 1813. The specificity of this date suggests to me that some document to this effect exists although I have not seen it. It is also reported that Christopher married Susannah Bird 24 April, 1814.

I'm trying to find the parents of Susannah Bird and also the date that Christopher moved to "Old Buncombe". Did he move to Indian Land before it was taken from the indians?
