Ann M. Dellinger, thanks a million for your help. I shall write to North Carolina State Archives immediately for the records. I presume that Polly was the wife of John German and Fanny was the first child. It seems that Fanny already grew up when Jacob Deal, a guardian, took John's two other children Levi and Sarah (Betsy) to Wilkes County, N.C. to live there. I wonder about William. I hope that the records will tell something about him. Again thanks.
