Calvin Smith md. Alice Potter mid 1800's

I am looking for any info on my ggg grandparents, Calvin Smith and Alice Potter. Both were from NC. Calvin lived in Lenoir Co., and may be the same Calvin Smith who enlisted in 1863 at the age of 38 in Capt. Croom's Company during the Civil War. This would make Calvin's year of birth about 1825. There were four other Smith's that enlisted in the same company from Lenoir Co., those being H.B., H.H., James, and John W. All were privates and born in Lenoir Co.

Calvin and Alice's daughter, Nettie Unity Smith (my gg grandmother) was born in Kinston NC on 11 March 1860, and should be listed in the 1860 census. Any help would be appreciated.

Sincerely
Randy Brooks
