The church has a nice website at http://www.shallow-well.org/ . They may have a church historian who could help you. I've had good experiences in that area contacting churches and getting help. (Actually found a cousin that way.) I believe the church was located in Moore County, but like you I'm unsure exactly where that line was.

What surnames are you searching in that area? I research the Howard/Harward and Maddox lines in Lee/Moore/Chatham counties.
