I am researching the Jordans. Our Jordans so far goes back on paper to Matthew M who died in Johnston County in 1849. I am trying to figure out which line he belongs. We KNOW he is NOT associated with Frederick out of Wayne because of DNA and I continue to suspect a relationship with Cornelius out of Edgecombe. There's at least two James, Budd, Nicholas x2, Abner and Abraham, Lewis, Charles, Henry... I am tracking all of them. Spending many days at the Archives.
I have discovered two separate early Jordan plantations/farms in Johnston county, one in the ONeals township along Jordan Narron Road (close to Wilson - Edgecombe at the time) and one south of Smithfield close to the Neuse which somehow ended up in the hands of Dr. Josiah Ogden Watson by 1851. Watson willed "Jordan Farm" to a nephew Henry Bull Watson. The property is located along Brodgen road close to Wayne but in Johnston county.
Graves have been almost impossible to find! Though I am not done looking!!
I connected with some GA folks a month or so ago after our DNA test results arrived. I'm trying to get info organized to send to them. I am late! I am still in the thick of the nest of these Jordans!
Love to confer and I truly will share what I have - provide it is a two way street.
