Where did your John Mathas Walker die? I have been looking thru my Walker notes for Iredell and have a John M. Walker that died in Rockingham Co. in 1882 and buried in Iredell, but have never seen your John Mathas. Have you found anything else on him (J.M.)? Your A.M. Walker obviously had a first wife since Anna was her stepmother, have you found the first wife?
I have a good bit of info on the A.M. Walker (b. 1814) line, but have not organized it into FTM, but I'm thinking that I really need to get it in so that I can sort these Walkers out at a glance.
In the Iredell Co. Wills, I found this abstract:
C-203-4, 3-19-1798: Abraham, William & Moss Endine Walker to Arthur & John for natural affection, all interest they have to 236ac on S side of 3rd Creek which their father died seized of, part of a grant to Thomas (Simmon?) 10-25-1786 & conveyed to Walker 8-19-1788, joining Wm. Watts on 3rd Creek. WIT: Saml. Fleming Jt., James Scruggs, 8-3-1798. Do you know to which Walker line the above Walkers belong and the name of the father? There is a James Walker that has a land grant in the mid to late 1700's in Iredell, do you know anything about him?
