Thank you so much for writing. I am going to forwrd your message to Stacey Gaskins who has the Gaskins Family Bible.
My line was John Riley born abt 1787 in NC.. Stacy has mentioned her Gaskins being in ther area you are writing about. Seems the Rileys & Gaskins have travelled together off and on in your migration to IL via Ky, TN, Tn and finally southern IL. Seems the Gaskins & Rileys may have lived in KY abt 10 to 15 years before going on to IL. We
have our families to date but can not prove the early years. The Gaskins may have been in VA before NC. I do not know about the Rileys. John Riley married a Rossiter from MD & my guess is that the Rileys were from MD as well.
Stacy has the family bible and can look up the names. Believe that they may have moved inland for awhile before migrating west. Thank you for writing and I will be back in touch. I am concerned that I have not heard from Stacey in a ciuple of months. She was ti visit someone in So. Il who has does the Riley family back to Ireland but have not hearde from here. I hope that she will replysoonest.
