Cemetery Clean-up and decoration
Posted by: Becky Howell (ID *****1825) Date: August 08, 2005 at 05:47:58

WHAT: Clean-up and Decoration Day

WHERE: Allison Cemetery--Beantown. To reach this cemetery, take Hwy 276 down Jonathan's Creek, turn left onto Hemphill Road. Take a right off Hemphill Road onto Grindstone Road. From Grindstone, take Beantown Road on the left to Red Maple Lane on the left. The cemetery is on the hill on the right just before reaching Sugar Cove Road.

WHEN: Saturday, September 3, 2005--as early as possible.

WEATHER: In case it should be raining hard enough to deter an Allison (we're hard to deter), we will proceed on the following Saturday, September 10, 2005.

WHAT TO BRING: mower, tools, covered dish, chair, flowers for the graves, and yourselves. We need your company and your muscles! If you're unable to work, bring a chair and sit with us.

We did a fantastic job last year, super fantastic! But............once a year won't keep our ancestor's final resting places as well-cared-for as they should be. They took meticulous care of this cemetery, we need to do the same. Donations are seriously needed.
If you can contribute, contact Becky Howell at derwydn@aol.com for mailing address for Dottie Hall. Every penny goes to cemetery maintanence.

If you can't donate, then perhaps you can mow, weed-eat, or just do general cemetery maintanance whenever you get a chance.

We will also have a drawing for prizes.

We will look forward to seeing you Saturday, September 3, 2005.

Contact: Becky Howell at derwydn@aol.com for further information
