Tony,
I can give you some things I know and things I suspect.
Catherine (Caldwell) Barnes was in Cocke County in 1880.
I found a court record naming Thomas Barnes administrator of Henry's estate, dated 1866, in Haywood County. (Actually says "Barens".) Thomas married Frances Caldwell in Haywood.
Catherine remarried to Oscar Ball 04/17/1885 in Mt Sterling, Cataloochee TS, Haywood Co. The marriage record lists her father as James Caldwell. No mother given.
Mariah Barnes (who married Richard Price and had John J. Price, my g-grandfather) had two bastard children as of 1831. I suspect that these two were Henry and Thomas, but cannot prove it.
I have a Leatherwood cousin who descends from Richard Price by his first wife; not sure where the connection is.
You may want to check out a book by Bruce Sutton and Bob Medford on the Suttons of Haywood County.

Bruce Price, a probably distant cousin.
