Derrick Shipman of The Sons of Confederat Veterans Captain Julius Welch Camp #229 has provided me with the names of all the Confederate Soldiers from Haywood County, as well as their enlistment dates and companies that they served in and whether they were returned home to their families or were killed in the country. I will be taking this information and untilizing it to put together a mini-genealogy on each of these fine men over the next year. I need the help of anyone who has a Civil War Pension or Picture of your ancesstor who enlisted from Haywood County, NC or drew a pension from that County. If you could help me in this it would be mos appreciated. I have set a deadline on this as we would like to have this done by June 30th of next year. I have quite a bit of information of most of the families of Haywood County, but I will have to check many census documents that I do not already have and cross-reference my data with what Derrick has supplied me with and also I have to check marriage documents and other documentation to verify data that is not already documented. I would like to use transcripts of as many pensions records as possible, but if I cannot get them, I cannot use them and my time is limited, so please HELP!! You can contact me at: 125 1/5 Walker Road Morganton, NC 28655 Regards Brenda Messer winsong8@bellsouth.net 828-433-7003 Regards Notify Administrator about this message?
