Tombstone Transcriptions

Friends:
In a few months the Haywood County Genealogical Society will publish a book of the cemeteries of Haywood County which will defeat my work of the past several years. With their superior resources and manpower, they can complete in a matter of months that which it would take me several more years to complete.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank all of you who have so kindly helped me. I thank you for the directions and for the stories. I thank you for the hospitality of your homes and for the meals you fed me. I thank you for walking through the cemeteries with me. I thank you for every tombstone you straightened and every weed you pulled. I thank you for the gates you unlocked and the fences you turned off. I thank you for the love and respect you have shown the ancestors, yours and mine.

God bless you all,
Becky Howell
