My Swanger side is also from the Fines Creek area. I am having so much trouble with the Smiths though. I don't believe the names you mentioned are of my Smiths...but, could be, I just don't know. I do remember my grandfather, William Estes Smith, talking about a place called Beaver Dam. That could be where he was born. I don't know enough about that place to know where it is. He was the illegitimate son of Doctor Estes Swanger and (I thought her name was..)Sarah Jane Smith. Some have told me that she could have been Harriet Jane Smith. But, I do know that she married S. Burton Reese on either June or July 19, 1869.
