EATON FAMILY

I AM TRYING TO TRACE THE ANCESTRY OF MY G G G GRANDFATHER, ALEXANDER EATON {1809- 1905}. RECORDS SHOW THAT HE WAS BORN IN HEYWOOD CO, NC AND IT SEEMS VERY LIKELY HE WAS DESCENDED FROM THE EATON FAMILY OF GRANVILLE CO. THEY, IN TURN WERE PROBABLY DESC FROM NATHANIEL EATON OF MASS WHO SETTLED IN VA IN THE 1630'S OR 1640'S.WHEREEVER MY ALEXANDER WAS THERE WAS USUALLY WILLIAM ANDREUBEN EATON CLOSE BY. ALSO EATON HAYNES, A FURTHER INDICATION A LIKELY RELATIONSHIP TO THE GRANVILLE EATONS. ARE THERE STILL EATONS LIVING IN HAYWOOD CO? ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. mullinsj44@aol.com
