Bill, My grandmother on my mother's side was Margaret Rogers and her parents were Nicholas Powers Rogers and Matilda Noland. My mother was almost 95 when she died and she was raised in Haywood Co. My son made a tape of her talking before she died and she mentioned her uncle Thadeus but she called him uncle Thad and aunt Lura Rogers. Was Lura the wife of Thadeus or a sister? She mentioned Uncle Turner, Uncle Jess, uncle Bob, and sisters Katie and Joanna. My grandmother was a twin to one of them, and I don't know if it was Katie or Joanna. She talked about the Fergusons, and Ledfords and Fish. I know I have them all confussed. In my husband's genealogy there is a Lewis Spencer Painter, born 1826 that married a Malinda Rogers in 1850. I would be ever so grateful if you could help me. My e-mail address is:
Now that is a number one and not an l. So many people have made that mistake when they tried to e-mail me.
