Have you checked "Battle of Deep Creek", this involved Thomas Legion Troops, a Historic Marker on the square in Bryson City commemorates same. My G-G-G-Grandfather A.J. Wikle was captured here and died a POW at Ft. Delaware, he is interred at Finn's Pt. National Cem on the NJ side of the river near Salem NJ.
