James Russell (~1770's - 1828) around Guilford, NC

Hi,

I am searching for information on James (S?) Russell who I believe to be my 5th great grandfather. From the information I could find, I believe he was born around 1770's. I found a marriage in 1800, 17 September to Martha Witty in Guilford County, North Carolina. He had at least two children, William and Calvin (b. 1805). In 1820 he is located in Census records living in Henry County Indiana along with Calvin. I do not know when they moved to Indiana.

The death certificate for Calvin's Son James Templeton Russell lists Calvin's birth state as S.C., but could be incorrect as they also didn't know who James Templeton Russell's mother was.

I am trying to locate who James S. Russell's father was and where he may have been born. My end goal is to find where my particular Russell's came from and when they came to the states as well as trace back as far as possible. Any information at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time,

Charlie Russell
