Sorry to take so long to get back to you, been away a few days. It may be that Frederick never used the name Jacob and that the article which named Jacob Dean was wrong, I wish to emphasis that first. Having said that it should be noted that another researcher, after some extensive contact cited an estate record for Francis which also names a William Perry. It only states that William owed her some money, and it was likely to never be collected. This is clearly Frederick's wife as locations named in property records clearly match, with Ebenezer Perry and wife Christina living very near this Francis Dean. Census records also indicate a female head of house in the Francis Dean household. Francis and Frederick are clearly shown to have a daughter Charity (as per Frederick Dean's will), who would be of the approximate age of the Charity Dean who married William Perry (considering her age in the 1850 and 1860 census). So, what I have is that Ebenezer Perry and wife Christina had a son William Perry who married Charity Dean. An article on Myron Dean from the late 1800's (published in Illinois) shows Charity's parents as Jacob Dean and Francis. Will and estate records show that Ebenezer Perry of Guilford NC had a wife Christina. (Many researchers of this couple also show this couple had a son William) Property records show that Ebenezer Perry SR and Christina lived in the Reedy Fork area of the Haw River, boardering multiple county lines. Property records show Francis and Frederick Dean also at Reedy Fork. Census records show Ebenezer SR and Francis also living near each other. So, it is possible that Frederick was also known as Jacob, or that the article was wrong in naming Jaoob as Charity's father. I remain convinced that this is the correct Ebenezer Perry and Francis Dean, but welcome evidence to the contrary. My purpose with these postings, is to present this information to researchers of Fredercick Dean SR, NOT to convince them, but in an attempt to discover whether any of them may have any record of Frederick which might indicate a middle or first name of Jacob. Thank you for your kind response. Notify Administrator about this message?
