Thanks for the suggestion. I have gone through Hinshaw's Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy, Vol. 1, NC, several times and have not picked up any leads. I have also tried to get a lead in IN and have used the indexes on the IN Mo. Meetings, etc. The only lead was a male McGonigal turning up in one of the Monthly Meetings in Wayne Co, IN in, I think, the 1870s.

I think that I am going to pursue your idea on a Joseph Coffin marriage and also try to get the divoce papers from the NC Archives.

Thanks a million for your help and suggestions. This is turning out to be more of a problem project than I anticipated!
