Mr. Hanner was a local Justice of the Peace or minister, I believe, and he witnessed many marriages or performed them.

Abner Coffin was one of many Coffin families in Guilford County. Here is a land entry that named him:

Dec 20, 1796. Abner Coffin, 270 acres; warrant issued Jan 28, 1779 originally to Seth Coffin for 300 ac. on waters of South Buffaloe Creek, joins James Wilson and Henry Saferight; warrant sold Feb 22, 1791, by Seth Coffin to Abner Coffin and notarized "notary publick of town of Sherburn in Nantucket Co., Massachusetts in New England as attorney for said Abner Coffin."
