Looking for anyone with links to the following people: Thomas Lowry, born 1760-1770, unknown where, married Francis "Fanny" Forestt, before 1800. She was born around 1780-1781 in N.C. This couple had 13 children, six of whom we've found. Thomas Lowry, born 1804, NC, married Catherine Pilkinton, in 1820 in Guilford Co, NC Elizabeth "Betsey" Lowry married Jesse W. Pilkinton in 1820 in Guilford Co., NC. Sina Lowry married David Loving in 1830s in Maury Co, TN. John Lowry, born 1817, NC, married Rachael Carpenter in 1830s in Maury Co., TN. William Jackson Lowry, born 1818 in either NC or TN, married Sarah Pilkinton in 1830s in Maury Co., TN. Betty "Biddy" Lowry married Elias Smith in 1829 in Shawneetown, Gallatin County, IL. All six of these "kids" migrated to Shawneetown, Gallatin County, IL between 1828 and 1840s, then fanned out to other counties in IL, MO, and on out to Commanche County, OKLA and Spokane, WA before 1900. Our earliest Thomas Lowry, born 1760-1770, unknown where, has been linked through DNA to a brother, John "Crip" Lowry, born 1753, in Scotland. John "Crip" Lowry lost a leg in the Revolutionary War and moved to TN. His brother, Thomas Lowry's descendants, seem to have mostly moved on to IL. Would love to talk with anyone who is researching either Thomas Lowry or John "Crip" Lowry's descendants. Note: We have found the spelling of the name under Lowry, Lowrey, and Lowery. In the 1820 Guilford County, NC, census, please see "Fanny Lowery" with 13 children and slaves as this is the widow of our earliest Thomas Lowry. Notify Administrator about this message?
