This name is often seen as Lovelatty in Guilford Co., NC, record.
Guilford Co. Court, February term, 1785:
Administration of the estate of Thomas Lovelatty, decd, is granted to Lear, the wife and widow of Dec'd and qualified.
There should be a copy of his Will on microfilm. If you can't get it and are desperate, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
There are also records of a Simon or Simeon Lovelatty in the Guilford Co. court minutes and land warrants. He was a chain carrier for various surveys in 1783-1784.
