I am trying to find information on my 3 x great grandfather Spencer Morgan. He was born in the early 1820's (possibly 1821 or 1824) in Guilford County, North Carolina. In 1840 he married Sarah Brattain (Bratton) and within ten years they moved to Ohio and later Indiana.
Spencer and Sarah had at least six children: Quinton (Quainton), Henry, Richard, Melissa, James, and Charles. A seventh child, Margaret, is listed as Sarah's "Step Daughter" in the 1880 census where Sarah is listed as divorced and is living with Richard in Milton, Indiana while Spencer (also listed as Divorced) lives with two sons.
Their oldest son, Quinton Morgan, (also spelled Quainton) is my 2 x great grandfather. His son Oliver Morgan is my great grandfather.

I've had a pretty easy time finding my way back to Spencer Morgan, but I can't find any information on him before his marriage to Sarah Brattain. If anyone has any information I would greatly appreciate it.
