Thanks for replying and for the info. Since some of my Thigpen's and Meeks were in Greene Co., NC I thought there might be a connection to the William Britt who was there in 1800. I now know my Rutha Meeks (b. ca 1786)married SPARKMAN BRITT(b. ca 1781), do you have any info on him? In 1807, John Jones sells to Sparkman Britt 721/2 acres adjoining a WIlliam Britt. Also a Jesse Britt was there as early as 1782. Sparkman Britt is still there in 1813. Thanks again for your help.
