My father completed the African Ancesrty DNA test. They look at the Y chromesome in order to determine paternal ancetry. Each male has the same Y as his father, and his grandfather and his great-grandfather, etc.
They traced us back to the Ibo people of Nigeria and the Ewondo people in Cameroon.
