Here is a little more info from the record of the Lincoln Co. Ct. of Pleas and Quartersessions: John Tothero appointed overseer of the road from Vestals Ford on the South Fork of the Catawba River to Jacob Stroups on Little Long Creek......

This may also be of interest to you. July 1812 Session:
John Bradshqw appointed overseer of the road leading from the Tuckaseegee Ford to Lincolnton beginning at George Stroups old place and from thence into the Rockets Ferry road in Fellenweider's cooling ground (I don't know what cooling ground refers to, but Fullenweider's iron works was at the site of present day town of High Shoals.)
