Linda, I thought I had something for you in the Stokes Co. Deed Book, which show that on 23 January 1832, John Hutchins deeded two slaves, Aaron and Lucy, to the children of his deceased daughter Charity Morris. One of the sons was Presley. Unfortunately, this is the Presley Morris born 1815 who married Nancy Westmoreland.
On the other hand, this led me to the other Morris's in Stokes Co. in 1830. A likely candidate for Presley W. Morris's father would be Moses Morris, son of Shadrack Morris, the brother of Presley Morris (husband of Charity, above). That Presley died young, in 1815, and it seems possible that Moses named your Presley after his uncle. Also, Moses married Cynthia Walker -- which could account for the Presley W. The only problem is that there's no trace of Moses and Cynthia having a son named Presley...
Anyway, perhaps this will offer another path to explore. Good luck on your search -- Gordon
PS: I just saw that in 1870 Lucy, the woman deeded to Presley Morris et. al., was living next to your Presley in 1870. Interesting.
