Location of TOWNSHIPS in Forsyth Co for census purposes
Posted by: SEM (ID *****3850) Date: August 02, 2007 at 00:20:55

Can anyone point me to a map that shows the location of the various "townships" in Forsyth County? I am trying to locate the areas or places where the people lived when they were enumerated in different census years

For example, an 1860 location stated at the top of the census page is "Post Office - Kernersville; Deep River District, Forsyth Co" Is this present-day Kernersville?

An 1870 census states -- "P.O. Friedburg, South Fork Twp, Forsyth Co."
Is this where present-day South Fork N.C. is located?
Where was the Friedburg post office located in 1870?

Any ideas?

All help is appreciated.
Thanks! SEM
