Hi, I've come across a William N. Shoaf of Forsyth County who died of wounds while a Confederate POW in Chester PA. Company H, 33rd Infantry Regiment North Carolina. He died on 03 August 1863 in Chester, PA. I am currently researching the family of Henry and Sarah (Craver) Shoaf and would like to get confirmation that this William N was (or was not) their son. A William N age 21 was on the 1860 census listed as William N. Shoaff along with Henry, Sarah, and John W Shoaff. John Shoaf was married to Nancy Catherine Burk - daughter of Andrew Burk and Mary "Polly" Ader. (John and Nancy Shoaf would be my gg-grandparents) Other family members of Henry and Sarah Shoaf are: Cornelia Shoaf and husband William Spach, Alexander Shoaf and wife Susan Clayton (of Hope, Bartholomew, Indiana). I also have seen this William N. as William Norman Shoaf Thanks in advance for your time. Notify Administrator about this message?
