Am looking for family that may remember David Columbus Spivey married to Mary E Jones(both African American). He was born in Edgecombe County, Mary Gates County. They had many children Mary E Jr, David C Jr, Polly E, Hosea, Arsena, Joe N (Jonathan), Ruth, Naomi and EJ. David Sr and his wife moved to Philly around the 40s. Mary Jr (age 7-fever) and David Jr (gas accident)died young. David Sr had a sister named Daisy who may have been married to a Louie Hally.
Polly had a daughter around the 30s named Gracie D. Hosea moved to California. Naomi had a daughter name Marlene.
Joe N with two of (five) his children Michael and Faith visited family in Parmele, Hertford, Edgecombe, Martin and other areas of NC in the 60s. One of the Spivey's they met was a Sheriff (No name). Big guy that could scare the ba' jesus out of you, but very nice (as the story was told to me).
I have very little history on Mary E Jones other than she had sisters and may have been a teacher.
