Peggy:

Thank you for answering my post.
Robert Halliburton was married to a Mary Shourn Davie, Mary's father was William Davie and his wife was Margaret Jones. Robert and Mary are buried in the Halliburton/Holloway Family cemetary in Oak Grove Township. Their forth child was Margaret Jones (probably named after her grandmother Margaret Jones Davie).

I did not know who Margaret Jones Halliburton married, so you have given me another piece to the puzzle, thank you..

There are several Margarets in the Halliburton line, including my grandmother. These may all be named after Margaret Jones Davie, since I do not see a Margaret before her. She must have been quite a lady to be remembered for so many generations.

Robert Halliburton was called "Bob Short" due to his height. But he had a plantation house that was still standing in Durham in 1957, I am not sure it is still standing. And he had 2,000 acres of land, and I think about 39 slaves. He was well known in the area.

Roberts brother John Camp was my Great Gr. Gr.Grandfather.

I would love to have the Nichols line. My search is not only Halliburtons but also the ancestry of their wives and husbands. Where did you say Margaret Jones Nicholes was buried?

Thanks again:

Jack
