Hi. I just found your message dated 2009. My dad's mom was a Carney originally from Onslow County, as far as we know. My gggrandfather was William Carney, sons Robert and Tobias, my ggrandfather, and daughter Harriett. My grand-mother was Cora Lee Carney, married to John William Murray. Do any of these names ring a bell with you? If so, would you be willing to share? I live in KY and due to health problems cannot travel at the present time. My e-mail is betbria2@aol.com.
