Michael DICKSON moved to the area of Cold Water Spring in what is now Tuscumbia , Alabama in about 1817.
In the book TWO HUNDRED YEARS AT MUSCLE SHOALS by Nina Leftwich four brother-in-laws of Michael DICKSON are mentioned as having joined him in Tuscumbia, Alabama a year or two after his own arrival there. They are : Isaiah DILL, James McMANN, Hugh FINLEY, and Mr. MATTHEWS. In the book HERITAGE OF COLBERT COUNTY the brother-in-laws are mentioned as : Isiah McDILL, James MACAN, Hugh FINLAY, and ___MATTHEWS. The Colbert County book states that MACAN and McDILL moved to West Tennessee in about 1831 or 1832. Mr FINLAY remained in Franklin or Colbert County till his death, some 15 years later and Mr MATTHEWS died in the vicinity only a few years after his arrival. If these are Michael DICKSONís brother-in-laws, they must have been married to Michaelís wifeís sisters since Michael only had one sister and she was married to James Pearsall and remained in North Carolina. Michaelís wife was Sene WILLIAMS daughter of John WILLIAMS of North Carolina. She had at least 6 sisters. Can anyone help me find the names of the wives of the aforementioned men?? I will appreciate any clue, no matter how small as to the names , marriage dates, and location of any of these people or their descendants.
