Dennis,

I believe the John W Carter on the 1830 Henderson CO TN
census,living by my Wilie/Wiley Ray is yours. He falls in
the right age bracket to be him and so does his wife.
The Brooks and Oneals living by Wilie and John are from Wilson CO TN., and some went to Williamson CO IL. There
was a John W Carter in Wilson CO TN in 1820 the right age
also to be your John W Carter with a wife the right age
also.

Interesting you are looking in Duplin CO NC for your Mathis because There was an Isaac Carter also living in Henderson Co TN who was from Sampson CO NC. Sampson Co NC was created from part of Duplin Co NC somewhere
between 1780 and 1800.
