Could your Daniel *Johnson* Eaton be the person who is in my files as Daniel *Jackson* Eaton, son of Daniel EATON (1827-1912) and Jane Elizabeth HOWELL (1827-1898) who are in Davie County in 1850? Daniel J. doesn't appear in the 1850 census, so was presumably born after that date, but I don't have his dates.
